Roxie + Austin’s Chino Hills Engagement Photos

If ever two people have had quiet fortitude, it is them. The way they are grounded by each other. The way they look into each other’s eyes, and that is it: they are established. And yet, the giggling! So much giggling. They giggle all the time. There is something here, something to this: being serious and playful, joyful and contemplative.

Roxie and Austin are the epitome of made for. Made for each other, made for laughing together, made for holding each other up, made for getting through the hard things and skipping through the festive things. When I first sat down with them a few months ago, I was amazed that my sweet friend had found just the right person: someone with the same blend of cheer and authenticity and hunger for life and… and… There’s the problem. I just can’t put it into words.

Arthur Park

You may recall the Secret Park photos I did for Chelsey and David; since then, I’ve renamed the place Arthur Park, and it’s still one of my favourite spots, a quiet haven for Chino Hills engagement photos. Because Roxie and Austin were with me when I got the news about Arthur, I thought this would be the perfect spot for part one of their Chino Hills engagement photos, especially once they told me they wanted a little wilderness in their lives.

It was the evening of Memorial Day; despite being the “official” first weekend of summer, it wasn’t hot. The sun, low in the sky, peeked through the trees, sprinkling golden light onto the trail like confetti. We chatted and laughed as we made our way through the park, enjoying the solitude and the cool breeze gently flowing around us.

They tell me that they’re going to Nashville on their honeymoon, and I tell them no, they can’t, because then they’ll move there, and I’ll miss them in my life. They smile at me knowingly, and then at each other with words I don’t hear.
